Choosing colours and materials is only a small part of an interior designers skill set when undertaking a project. First of all you will need to plan the area you are designing and make sure it works. You will learn how to draw and plan a room to scale. How to measure up an area and what to think about and look out for. Throughout the 2 days you will produce 2d plans and elevations of the space to scale, helping you communicate your design more clearly. You will also be able to recognise scale and proportion more easily. You will learn how to represent furniture in 2d and elevations and what to think about when space planning and designing your space(s). How to begin to plan your space based on the information you have been given in your client brief. Learn what drawing symbols you need to use and what they mean and also how to represent lighting and flooring layouts in 2d plan view. All drawings and plans are produced by hand. No computer skills are necessary for this course.
